The College Savings Plans of Maryland offer flexible and affordable plans to help your clients save for future college expenses and reduce dependence on student loans and other forms of debt. The plans can serve as important elements of a more comprehensive financial plan.
Both plans offered by the College Savings Plans of Maryland are 529 plans, named after the section of the Internal Revenue Code that permits states to establish and administer tax-advantaged college savings plans. Each has its own set of features and benefits, and both offer generous federal and Maryland State tax incentives.
